Eva Cassidy - "Somewhere over the rainbow"

"Over the rainbow" es una de las canciones más representativas del cine clásico junto a "Singing in the Rain". Fue interpretada por primera vez por la mítica Judy Garland quien con su espectacular voz la inmortalizó a finales de la década de 1930, siendo el tema más recordado de la película de 1939, El mago de Oz. La música fue compuesta por Harold Arlen y la letra escrita por Yip Harburg.

Qué podría decir de una canción que está en la mente colectiva de todos nosotros y flota suavemente en el ambiente, siempre con hermosos y dulces deseos e incluso arrancándonos esa lagrimilla de emoción. A continuación os dejo el fragmento de la película en la que se recoge dicha canción cantada por Judy, la versión que Eva Cassidy hace de la misma (de verdad, esta versión es increíble, no deja de impresionarme la voz que tenía y las maravillosas versiónes que hizo de otras muchas canciones) y la letra de canción.

No me queda más que esperar que la disfrutéis tanto como yo lo hago.

Pues no la conozco. Cuando la escuche te daré mi veredicto, pero muy muy muy buena tiene que ser para superar la de Eva Cassidy. ;)
